Acts 8:26 – 40 All Your Heart

by fol CHURCH on July 14, 2018

So many powerful things happen in this passage! Angels, chariots, divine appointments, baptisms, transportations, and direct words from God! Philip was so in tune with what God was doing, and he ran with it!

He knew what he was asked to do – Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind soul and strength and love your neighbour as yourself. He had one mission and that was it. He didn’t decide to get a vision for a homeless ministry and only minister to the homeless, or a children’s ministry and only minister to those under 18. He went upon his every day knowing that all he needed to do is love God with everything in Him. Trusting God in the security of knowing His love.

With that, he went out and saw the miracles happening before him. He experienced them for himself too! He got to do only what he saw his Heavenly Father doing, being guided by the Holy Spirit. Ministering to those who God pointed out to him, participating in God’s divine nature.

When you keep it really simple, you experience a lot more freedom as you release all control to God. Jesus is worthy of everything you step out to do for His sake. According to His word and His will. As you walk in divine truth, learning His nature, you can’t go wrong. You don’t let any fear control you anymore, as perfect love surrounds you and you go with it.

Philip seemed to have fun as he ran with all God had for him in the day to day. He had such wisdom as he sat with the Lord and sought to become one with Him. He chose to walk in obedience. I am not sure that I would have chosen to walk down a desert road, yet he went without question. With that, a man’s life got saved! WOW! What a cool day!

How often do we not step out from God directing us in the everyday due to little understanding, or fear. Sometime we try and reason with God. Philip was a great example in this passage of what it was like to say ‘Yes’ to God, even if you don’t know what you’re saying yes to.

God, help us say ‘Yes’ to you today. Help us obey your every commend and your every whisper of direction. We want to respond to your love today by loving you in return. We can only do this with your grace and your help. Teach us today; help us today. We want to go out into today by loving you with everything in us, and loving our neighbour as ourselves.
