In this passage the writer reminds us of God’s promise that Abraham would be the father of a great nation. This promise seemed ridiculous to both Abraham and Sarah, and yet God did the impossible and Sarah had a son, Isaac. I thought it might be helpful to give some more examples of God’s promises through the Bible – if God was able to give a child to Sarah, He can certainly handle whatever you’re going through.

- He is with us and He is for us – Isaiah 41:10
- His love for us will never fail – Isaiah 54:10
- He forgives us for all of our failures – 1 John 1:9
- He will never abandon us – Deuteronomy 31:8
- He knows what’s ahead of us – Jeremiah 29:11
- We are free – John 8:36
- He meets all of our needs – Philippians 4:19, Matthew 6:31-33
- He brings good out of everything – Romans 8:28
- He heals us – Isaiah 53:5
- He gives good gifts – Matthew 7:9-11
- Nothing can separate us from his love – Romans 8:38-39
