Psalm 67 Join in

by fol CHURCH on February 11, 2020

What a beautiful psalm this is, and what a challenge this is. As we live in His presence, we can’t help but worship Him daily. As we live in His presence, His light can’t help but not shine on us. As we reflect Him, His name will be known.

Is His name known by you and your actions? Do you know Him so intimately that your face shines? I can’t help but go to John’s account in revelation on what is happening in Heaven. In chapter 4:8-11 it shows that day and night, worship is happening. And we get to join in on this!

I wonder: is there a reason that we aren’t daily in this? That we don’t shine daily? Are we a witness to others of who God is, so much so that they fall into the beginning of wisdom, fear of Him. (Proverbs 9:10)

We tend to distance ourselves from God for whatever reason, placing a gap between us and Him. I wonder: are we scared of the cost? Like in our chapter in Revelation we see that our crowns are to be cast down. "You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honour and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being." Yet, we see that He is worthy.

It is a blessing that we get to worship Him. It is a blessing that we get to live in eternity with Him. It is something we don’t deserve, yet we receive freely. Yes, it may feel like it costs us something, but it really doesn’t! What we feel like it costs us isn’t actually something we need. All we need is Him!!

So, may we ask God to bless us today with His presence. His presence that brings us in awe of His majesty and glory and splendour. May others see Him through you and your daily life of worship. May all you do bring glory to His name. May you rejoice in His presence.

God, thank you so much for including us in your presence. Thank you, Jesus for being our Saviour, allowing us to remain in worship. May we count the cost, cast down our crowns and do what we were created to do daily. God, help us not to make any distance from you, but remain close.
