Romans 9:1-10:4 God’s Love and Faithfulness

by fol CHURCH on September 17, 2018

I love how Paul talks in this passage! How he reveals God’s nature and brings reality to who God is in all situations. Bringing truth that we are not in charge, and we are not the potter, but the clay. In it all Paul is not concerned by everyone’s feelings or that he might hurt them but out of love he brought them back in to truth and God’s love.

I love how Paul reminds what Jesus died for, that in Him overcoming death, Jews and Gentiles can come to Him. In this, God fulfilled His promises. God has great mercy and we should be grateful for that. We didn’t get the punishment that we deserve, but the love of a child of God.

Paul talks about the choice that we have to stay in this mercy and love that God faithfully gives. Then even in that choice, we get to strive for the gift, or we get to walk whole as the child that we are receiving God’s love.

This passage brings us back to who we are, it draws our eyes back to the one who gave it all, and continues to give it all. It draws us back to the one who loves us enough to call us His bride.

God has made a convenient with us, and this was made new when Jesus became the ultimate sacrifice for us. He died so we didn’t have to. We then get to live in the victory that this brought. We get to live in all Paul Is talking about. God is in control and He is allowing us to be moulded into all that He created us to be!

This was all so new when Paul was bringing this truth in, so I love how he used the scriptures that had been read for years and that everyone knew by heart. So many times I have read scripture that I know well, and God has shown me a whole new level of it! The bible is a living, breathing testimony of who God is, and in that, we get to go deeper and deeper.

Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for us, fulfilling the promises and saving us! Thank you God that you are in control, and we get to live under your grace. God show us more today how you see us! Show us who we are, calling us deeper with you! Amen.
