This chapter includes three of my go to verses when I need reminding of God’s love and faithfulness; v.18-20. Paul prays that we (Gentiles) “May have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge that you may be filled to the measure of all the fulness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”
Earlier in this passage Paul speaks about the mystery of Christ revealed in that the Gentiles are now fellow family members of the church in Jesus through the gospel (v.6). He also reiterates that he, having been called to serve Christ as a minister of this gospel according to the grace of God, was to share Christ with the Gentiles and bring light to everyone in accordance with God’s plan. Paul further states that in Him (Christ Jesus) and through faith in Him that we can approach God with freedom and confidence. This message is so relevant to each of us and the wider church, that we have access to the mystery of Christ through the gospel and that we too should minister to others that which has been revealed to us through scripture. It is in engaging with God’s word that he reveals more of the mystery of Christ to us and enables us to open the gospel to those God has called us to serve in the church and our local community. It is through the gospel message that the revelation of God’s love through Christ is made known that others may know ‘How wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.”

Pray that He may place on your heart someone he wants you to minister God’s word to this week that they would have eyes opened and hearts to receive.
