Isaiah 12:2 We are Saved

by on May 16, 2025

“Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defence; he has become my salvation.” (NIV)

This verse is part of a song of praise. When Jesus comes, God’s people will be triumphantly happy! We should continue to praise today! We should continue to show our gratitude for all that He has done, is doing and will continue to do for us for the rest of our days. The Good News is that Jesus is our salvation, and we need to share this with others so that they too can be saved and have a loving relationship with God.

The second line of this verse can also be found in Exodus 15:2 where Moses and the Israelites are singing this to the Lord, and again in Psalm 118:14.

The situation around us may change but our hope and love in the Lord will be secure forever as we are confident that his love for us is unchanging.

When we say that God is our salvation, we are stating that we cannot save ourselves. Nothing that we do which is good can save us – only God can do that. By trusting in this knowledge God gives us the peace and security so that we can trust in Him, and so not be afraid with whatever we are going through now or can see in the future. Step out in faith, even when fear is present, because God is always with us and will guide us along the right path. Keep focused on the Lord, surrender to His will and believe that things will work out.

We already know that we can trust God – we are already saved by Him sending us His son who sacrificed and died for us. Hallelujah!
