Jesus is on His way to Jerusalem fully aware of what is awaiting Him there so is using every opportunity He has to teach His disciples and covers the topics of prayer, how to act, God’s grace, healing and reminds them of what was going to happen to Him. It’s crammed full of nuggets of wisdom and truth, you can almost imagine Luke tweeting these (if that were a thing back then).
I like how Luke builds up the story of the unjust judge and how it compares with Jesus the truly righteous judge - God doesn’t answer our prayers because He is fed up of us asking., He answers them on (amongst other things) His timing (which may even be when we are called to be with Him), when WE are ready to receive, when and how is best for us, when we really realise that it’ll be Him answering and not a coincidence (or many other reasons the God of all creation might have). We have all had answered prayer in one way or another, but Jesus asks a very important question - however long it’s taken for prayer to be answered (or not) “when the son of Man comes [and I’d add ‘again’], will He find faith on Earth?”
Another interesting passage of this is when Jesus talks about ‘The Rich Ruler’ (v.18-26). I wonder if it’s just about money - I think Jesus could see what one area held this man back which was money - I think Jesus’ answer would be ‘that one thing’

Question:
Do you have answers to prayer that you haven’t thanked God for yet?
Are there things you might need to persist in praying for that you don’t have the answer for yet, set some time aside today to pray into it (or them).
Prayer:
Lord God show me the places where I need to surrender more completely to you and bless me with increased trust and faith in Your ways. Amen
