Psalm 105 Faithful Father, Saviour and Ever-present Friend

by on June 01, 2023

Psalm 105 is testament to God’s unwavering faithfulness to His children throughout history. He is a Covenant keeping God who is committed to keeping His promises. Remembering the wonders and miracles he performed with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, you and I, how can we fail to proclaim His name and Good news with others? Rejoice children of God - tell of His wonderful acts!

Reflecting and meditating on God’s faithfulness in the past reminds us that He has always been there for His people. Just as God delivered the Israelites from the bondage of Egypt, He is faithful to deliver us from the trials and tribulations we encounter. We can find comfort and strength in knowing that the same God who performed miracles in the past is still working in our lives today (Romans 8:28, Joshua 1:5, Hebrews 13:5).

Psalm 105 highlights God’s faithfulness by recounting the experiences of Joseph, who went from being sold into slavery to becoming a ruler in Egypt. Despite the trials Joseph faced, God was with him orchestrating events for his ultimate exaltation. This portion of the psalm emphasizes that God’s faithfulness extends beyond individual circumstances to fulfil His divine plan. We are encouraged to remember, celebrate, and share God’s mighty deeds in the past and trust in His steadfast love now. Reflecting on God’s faithfulness strengthens our faith, gives us hope in tough times, and enables us to confidently walk in His purposes. This psalm reminds us that God is ever-present and active in our lives, working all things together for our good.
